Carmen Malvar is nowadays collaborating in the development of the Certificate Program at the Pratt Center where she is involved , the program is linked to the Sustainable Design Center and its Incubator Program.
Her aim is to implement research methods and develop strategies into the chain design production. The objective behind is to encourage and facilitate local suppliers and artisans being part of the local, but also of the global, economy without loosing entity and reinforcing their community. She is currently working in Mexico in order to create the required structure to convert Research as a center activity. You can find her now undertaking this project in Oaxaca (Mexico) and also in Camarinas (Spain)
Carmen brings her findings to The Monterrey Institute of Technology (Guadalajara Campus) as well. She is there collaborating in several workshops and programs, imparting talks to students about Retail Trends and the mixture with local economy. This work also there will be presented in Elisava in Design Strategy’s new program and Entrepernurship that will offer from October, 2012.
