“Inspired by the quality of traditional Spanish tailoring, crafts making and the value of the process which claims for its recognition, we propose the deconstruction of the work in progress. THE FASHION ATELIER”
Under this concept, architects Francisco Ramón and Jessica Teló, students of ELISAVA Master in Retail Design, join their talents with Tali Oren, Interior Design student at Pratt Institute NYC and student of ELISAVA summer Retail Design Course, under installation manager of Rut Martin, architect and former student of ELISAVA, to develop the new Pop-Up Store promoted by BEIÑ (Be in Fashion Spain) at The Corner of the Roger Smith Hotel, 501 Lexington Avenue NYC, from September 5th to 28th, with the participation of Spanish fashion brands and designers Beatriz Peñalver, 94 WS, Ecoology, Lebluu and Taller de Artistas by Sonia Olla.
“Inverting the dress making process by lots of threads coming up from the mannequins of the store windows which invade the whole space as if they had exploded, we create a 2D geometrical language based on lines and patterns that define the proposal.
In a layout conceived as a free-flow workspace furnished with trestle tables and fashion tools, we capture the essence of a Fashion Atelier involving the visitors into a design and creation atmosphere, where the custom made fixtures for product exhibition are the result of a transposition of the 2D lines language into 3D geometrical free standing units constructed in metal, with the brand logo printed in fabric in one of its sides.”
Working hard these last days until the big opening on Thursday!
